We consistently supply people, companies and municipalities with electricity, gas, heating, water, fast internet, energy-related services and modern infrastructure.
Over 4,000 employees ensure every day that, for the people in our home country, the lights come on, cold feet are warmed, fresh drinking water flows and internet connections in home offices remain stable. As part of the SachsenEnergie Group, they take responsibility for secure, future-proof, sustainable, high-quality public services.
Together with our subsidiaries we see ourselves as architects of an intelligent energy transformation, continuously driving the growth of renewable energy.
SachsenEnergie is implementing integrated energy systems that address both heating and cooling requirements in a sustainable manner. By combining district heating, solar thermal energy, and heat pump technologies, the company ensures year-round energy efficiency for urban and industrial applications. The Dresden-Reick site serves as a model for sector coupling, where heating and cooling are supplied as needed using intelligent control systems.
This approach significantly reduces CO₂ emissions while optimizing resource use. SachsenEnergie’s strategic focus lies in developing scalable, low-carbon energy solutions that meet regional demand while aligning with Germany’s climate targets. Through these initiatives, the company is helping shape a resilient and climate-neutral energy supply for Saxony.
SachsenEnergie has once again received the “Top Company” recognition from kununu, highlighting its strong commitment to employee satisfaction. The company plans to invest over €500 million in 2024, with a focus on modernizing power grids, decarbonizing energy systems, and expanding renewable sources. By 2045, total investments are expected to reach €13 billion.
In response to the skilled labor shortage, SachsenEnergie is strengthening cooperation with schools and universities and enhancing international recruitment efforts. A new training center in Dresden-Reick, scheduled to open in 2026, will provide high-quality education for up to 120 apprentices. Innovative projects—such as using waste heat from TU Dresden’s data centers for district heating—demonstrate SachsenEnergie’s commitment to sustainable, future-ready energy infrastructure.
The Streumen wind farm is the most powerful in SachsenEnergie's portfolio. Here, nine wind turbines with a total output of 32 megawatts generate green electricity. The wind farm is thus making an entire region fit for the future.
SachsenEnergie recently expanded the wind farm in 2023 and commissioned its three most powerful turbines here. A new substation was also built to feed the large quantities of green electricity into the grid. The three new wind turbines alone can cover the annual electricity needs of 11,000 households. The wind farm is also a locational advantage for companies in the Meissen industrial park: ERVIN Germany, a specialist in metallic surface treatment, even obtains its green electricity directly from the Streumen wind farm via a power purchase agreement.
